Dr. Hope Rugo is a medical oncologist and hematologist specializing in breast cancer research and treatment. A Clinical Professor of Medicine, Dr. Rugo joined the Breast Care Center in 1999 after a decade of experience at UCSF in malignant hematology and bone marrow transplantation for a variety of diseases, including breast cancer. She entered the field of breast cancer in order to incorporate novel therapies based on an understanding of the biology of cancer with excellent quality of care into the treatment of women with breast cancer.Dr. Rugo is the Director of the Breast Oncology Clinical Trials Program, and is the principal investigator of multiple clinical trials focusing on combining novel targeted therapeutics with standard treatment to improve the treatment of both early and late stage breast cancer.  

 

Dr Rugo was an important part of the fight for Debbie Scott during her battle with cancer.  This is why WR charitable foundation has decided to donate to her invaluable research efforts in order to find a cure for triple negative  breast cancer.

Since 2018, we have partnered with another benefactor and caregiver of Debbie Scott during her fight with cancer.  Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation raises funds for a wide variety of initiatives that build and sustain healthy communities, enhance patient care, and help meet the growing needs of our communities.  Providing a wide range of leading-edge cancer services for patients of all ages in the community, with our support Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation is able to provide advanced new technologies and programs that provide cancer patients with healing therapies and bring tools to the providers even faster. 

 

The remaining money is used to support families in the Placer/Sacramento area that have been diagnosed with cancer and are continuing to fight.  This financial support sometimes helps families enjoy precious remaining time together or it sometimes helps pay for their rides to the cancer treatments.  We help meet the families needs that cancer has taken away.
